Welcome to Le Miel Cottage
I’m Karen Emile, though many know me as @milkandhoneylife.
Home has always been more than a place to me. It is a way of living, a language of love, and a canvas for the things that matter most. It was my honor to reimagine this sweet 1923 cottage while remaining faithful to the nostalgic character that first drew us to it.
From the moment you arrive, the original soul of the cottage begins to reveal itself. Wood beams stretch overhead, while the stone entrance wall, wood floors, and stone floors create a quiet, elemental foundation. These enduring materials became the undertone for everything that followed—warm, imperfect, and deeply connected to the history of the home.
I filled the cottage with original artwork created by our son, Aiden, whose work can be found at @throughaidenseyes as well as here, if you want to see all of the paintings in the cottage. along with antiques slowly gathered over the past year. Each piece was chosen for the feeling it carries: the beauty of a handmade object, the romance of something with a past, and the quiet magic that comes from surrounding yourself with things that tell a story.
I have always been drawn to homes with soul. The kind of homes that do not feel styled so much as lived in. Homes where the worn edges, uneven textures, old wood, and collected treasures create a sense of belonging. Le Miel is a true reflection of who we are and what we love—a celebration of the handmade, the vintage, the imperfect, and the deeply personal.
This cottage is not meant to feel untouched. It is meant to feel remembered.
It holds our love for creativity, craftsmanship, family, and the simple beauty of home life. Every room carries a little piece of our story, from the artwork made by our son to the antiques that have found their way here, each one adding another layer to the cottage’s evolving history.
We were honored to welcome Tezori Home for a full cottage tour of Le Miel, and I hope you’ll take a quiet moment to enjoy the way they captured its spirit here.

Welcome to Le Miel.
We’re so grateful to share this little piece of our world with you.
Sincerely,
Karen Emile
