Come On In & Tinker in the Kitchen

Our little kitchen is meant to be lived in, so please make yourself at home.

At the heart of the kitchen is our original antique stove, and she is fully functioning and ready to be put to good use. Whether you feel like making a slow Sunday breakfast, warming up something cozy, or getting a little adventurous with dinner, we hope you’ll enjoy cooking here just as much as we do.

For the morning, I’ve left a French press for making a proper cup of coffee, along with a selection of teas. And if a French press isn’t quite your thing, there’s a conventional coffee maker tucked away for you as well.

If you find yourself inspired to make a meal, you’ll find pans tucked inside the drawers of the antique stove. Our Dutch ovens are underneath the kitchen-run cabinet to the right of the stove, just waiting for something delicious to simmer away in them.

I’ve also left a few of my favorite cookbooks around the kitchen. So pour yourself something warm, flip through the pages, and see what catches your eye. You never know—you may arrive planning to eat out and end up spending the evening barefoot in the kitchen making something wonderful.
