Before You Leave…

Prior to heading down the mountain, we kindly ask that you leave the cottage as you found her. A few little things will help us prepare her for the next guest and keep this special old home well cared for.

A few things to remember:

1. Towels, please. Place all used towels, including dish towels, on top of the washer. No need to wash them.

2. Leave the beds undone. We’ll take care of the linens from here.

3. Tidy the kitchen. Please return all dishes, appliances, cookware, and cutlery to the places where you found them.

4. Check the faucets. Make sure all faucets are turned off tightly.

5. Lights out. Please turn off all lights before you leave.

6. Take out the trash. Place all trash in the outdoor bins and be sure the bungee cords are secured.

7. Close up the cottage. Please make sure all windows are completely closed and latched.

8. Winter months: To help protect our pipes from freezing, please turn off the main water valve located outside, just to the right of the chimney. We’ll provide additional instructions if this applies during your stay.

9. Fireplace, please. Make sure the fireplace screen is securely in place before leaving.

10. One last little treasure hunt. Take a quick peek beneath the beds, inside drawers, closets, and other nooks to make sure nothing has been accidentally left behind.

11. Empty the refrigerator. Please take everything you brought with you, including food and opened drinks, so the refrigerator is left completely clear.

12. Let us know. If anything has been broken, damaged, or gone missing during your stay, please let us know before you leave. We truly appreciate your honesty and care for our cottage.

13. Lake passes. If you were provided with lake passes, please return them to the hook where you found them.

14. Leave the outdoors as you found it. Please return outdoor areas to their original arrangement and make sure all gates are closed securely.

15. And finally… Please place the key back inside the lockbox and scramble the numbers.

Thank you for treating our little cottage with the same care and respect that we do. We hope you leave feeling rested, inspired, and already looking forward to your next visit.

Warmly,

Karen Emile
